President Donald Trump promised his administration would bring about a new “Golden Age” in America, laying out a wide variety of goals during his inauguration speech on Monday. President Trump contrasted his agenda with the policies of former President Joe Biden.
“Our recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and, indeed, their freedom,” President Trump said. “From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”
The incoming president promised to end the “weaponization” of the justice system, ensure the federal recognition of “only two genders,” and reclaim U.S. ownership of the Panama Canal. He also pledged to address the “inflation crisis,” declare a national emergency at the southern border, and impose tariffs on foreign goods.
